This tea room is what I would consider a "modern" tea room. Your food is brought out in courses instead of being piled on three tiered stands. The food is tasty but not at all the traditional finger sandwiches, scones and clotted cream. If you like to take tea with gentlemen friends this is the place to visit! The decor is not Victorian or frilly even though it has recently relocated to a beautiful Victorian house. Tea is already strained for you. You are offered as much tea as you can drink. The service has changed since the tea room is so busy. Be prepared to wait.

There is a small gift shop with a variety of items including tea pots and cups. You may also buy quality loose tea here for your own tea parties!

If you prefer the traditional way of taking tea which involves straining your own tea, and enjoying scones with clotted cream (which has been imported from England) and lemon curd then you will not want to visit this room. However if you like crème fraiche on your scones and a wide variety of entrees such as puff pastry and pinwheels you will enjoy this room! Menus only change monthly so if you prefer a variety of lunch items to choose from you won't find it here.

What sets this tea room apart from the others in the area is the fact that it has a huge banquet room for bridal parties as well as a tea bar. In the tea bar you may order coffee drinks, tea, pastries and scones. Ladies, this is an excellent place for your men to wait for you if he is not into the tea party experience.
