Sutter Creek
Review
This tea room has recently moved to Main Street into a larger house! There are more seating areas and more room for gifts! The decor is more elegant than the other house with a large decorative mirror in one of the rooms!
The food is served in courses with your delicious scone being brought first if you order the Petite tea. The full tea is brought out on three tier plate holder. Everything was good except the cucumber sandwich which was too sour.
I prefer more scones and traditional sandwiches and would rather skip the salad.
The Devonshire cream tasted like the mock version but was good. There is plenty of food including fruit and salad. I was disappointed with the tea as it was served in very small pots in tea bags. They do bring you more hot water to pour over the bags if you wish.
Service was not as prompt as before but I believe the owners just need some time to get used to the increased business.
Having tea with one of the English personalities such as Princess Di or Queen Elizabeth is no longer offered. It was a nice touch and is missed!
There is a special room for children's birthday parties if you wish to use it.
Another change is there are other businesses in the same house as the tea room! Enjoy browsing these stores before you leave!
