Review

European elegance is the phrase that comes to mind when you ascend the staircase to this beautiful tea room.  Housed on the top floor of Shaw's upscale antique shop is a relaxing room to sit down and sip tea!  The room is decorated with beautiful antique furniture, lamps and plants.  The color scheme is burgundy and pink with burgundy toile on the walls and tea cozies.  Antique chandeliers adorn the ceiling!

I have visited this tea room twice.  Once I visited and took tea with Susan (who is co-owner with husband Chuck) and recently attended a tea with The Ladies Traveling Tea Society!

When you enter the tea room, you are greeted by hostess Karla who is dressed in a lovely long white apron.   She seats you at your table and then presents a tea menu which includes a great selection of 32 teas!   The tea pot that is brought to you contains a removeable filter which you can remove when your tea is ready.   A tea timer is provided to you so that you know when the tea is done brewing!   A plate is provided to place the filter on.   You can cover your tea pot with a tea cozy to keep it hot.  I enjoyed a lovely oolong at our recent event and a wonderful white tea on my former visit.  I recommend the Ceylon Vintage Silver Tips and Paris teas.

I ordered the full afternoon tea on both visits and was delighted with the offerings. The chef on duty mixes up tasty scones (the proper English type), assorted flavorful finger sandwiches, and delicious desserts including a moist chocolate cake.

You are brought scone toppings in a silver three compartment jam server.  Lemon curd, jam and mock Devon cream are served.  It would be lovely to be offered the English Imported Double Devon Cream as an option as it makes a tea very special! All of my personal tea parties always include English Double Devon Cream.

You must visit this tea room soon! You will be pampered by the staff and greeted by the owners, Chuck and Susan .  After partaking in the delicious fare, be sure and browse through the selection of antiques down below!

This is a perfect place to hold your next meeting or special event.  Be sure and take your Mother or best friend to this special tea room!
